php - What are the differences between a GD and a GD2 image? -

Reading the document for

, and I noticed that the tasks are described as follows:

  • Output GD2 image in browser or file
  • Output GD image in browser or file

What is GD2, and what is a GD image? What is the difference between those image types?

GD is an old C library, GD2 is updated one. Php uses gd2.
