versioning - How are updates to the .net framework handled in azure? -

If someone hosts something in Azure and comes with a new KB and requires a net framework to update , How is it handled in Azer? Do they automatically update it for you or give you the option of staying in the old version?

I am more interested in how the versioning is handled instead of uptime. Do they give you the latest version of a given version number? As such, the up-to-date version of 3.5, etc.
