Maximum number of concurrent users connected to SQL Server 2008 -

Is the maximum number of concurrent users connected to SQL Server 2008? I'm guessing computer resources that determine the boundary (if it exists), but I'm wondering if there is a theoretical limit I have tried to googling the answer, but all the information I found is pre-SQL Server Is based on versions. If there is a limit, does it only apply to a database or a SQL Server instance?
